How we work

We recognize the trust our customers place in us and take active ownership of our projects. During our film and image productions, we focus on structured project execution where good communication between project manager, director and customer is key to a successful production. In this blog post, you'll get an insight into what it's like to work with us.

Before production

When Reisefilm receives an enquiry, the most central part of a good production begins, the "pre-phase". Through conversations with the customer, we determine how to achieve the goals of the project, what to make, how to make it, how long it will take, how much it will cost and what risks threaten the project. It is in the pre-project phase that we create production plans, shooting lists, location scouting, equipment lists and templates that are carefully maintained throughout the production and final phase.

We always recommend our customers to run a pre-production meeting with our project manager and director to increase the likelihood of success. During the meeting, we analyze goals, value propositions, assumptions, risks, technology choices, destination and content together with the customer. The aim is to gain clarity on how the production will be carried out, so that together we can make the best choices along the way.

Important elements in the pre-phase:

  • What is unique about your service/product and brand?

  • What is your value proposition?

  • What challenges do you solve for the customer / what needs do you meet for the customer?

  • When do you want to start the project and do you have any deadlines?

  • What is your vision for production and the finished product?

  • Which surfaces should the content be displayed on?

  • Is micro-content desirable?

  • What budget are we working with?

During production

During our productions, we follow specific and approved plans from the pre-production phase. This ensures that the final product lives up to your expectations. The correct use of daily plans and shooting lists in combination with a good process and communication during the project is essential for us to be able to deal with unforeseen events and other challenges that arise along the way. On larger projects, we always have a debrief with the customer after each production day to uncover any errors, changes or opportunities. For safety, we use double storage solutions along the way and never transport the raw materials back to cutting in the same box, bag or vehicle.

Important elements during production:

  • Clear day plan

  • Detailed shooting list for director and cameraman

  • Careful communication between all levels.

  • Safe and secure storage

  • Debrief after each production day

After production

Once production is complete, the cutting and editing work begins. We place great emphasis on achieving the goals and criteria set during the pre-production phase, but make optimization suggestions along the way if we see opportunities in the clip that were not obvious during filming. Our producers will send drafts for approval along the way so that the customer always feels included and confident in the project.

As soon as production is published and projects are categorized as completed and delivered, we transfer the entire project from portable disks to our in-house cloud solution. In this way, we manage the content and the project for future changes / re-edits. We also ensure direct access to the content for all our producers, regardless of where they are in the world. We have found this unlimited access to the material to be a great strength as we can make quick work / changes for our customers!

Important elements after production:

  • Reach the goals and criteria set

  • Provide suggestions for content optimization

  • Image and film drafts are delivered to the customer along the way.

  • Close communication between customer and manufacturer.

  • Transfer of all files to Cloud Solution

  • Fast customer service for future changes.
